PRIVACY POLICY
GLOBAL STILLS Ltd (hereafter, STILLS IMAGE BANK) with tax number 510.024.467 and head office at Rua Dona Filipa de Vilhena, 42, 8100-575 Loulé (PORTUGAL), is a Portuguese company which is engaged in, among other activities, the editing of photographs in print or digital form (electronic format), created, acquired or assigned to be administered through image banks, namely through the present Platform.
STILLS IMAGE BANK is committed to protecting the privacy of its Platform USERS, having drawn up the present Privacy Policy for this purpose, with the objective of showing its commitment and respect for the rules relating to privacy and the protection of personal data which we collect and use in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act (“PDPA”).
WE RECOMMEND YOU READ THIS PRIVACY POLICY SO THAT YOU CAN BE AWARE OF AND ACCEPT THE CONDITIONS IN WHICH YOU MAKE YOUR PERSONAL DATA AVAILABLE AND AUTHORIZE ITS COLLECTION, USE AND DISCLOSURE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE RULES DEFINED HEREIN.
AMBIT OF APPLICATION
This Privacy Policy applies exclusively to the collection and use of personal data carried out by STILLS IMAGE BANK in order to provide services and products through its Platform, thus ensuring that the process for purchasing services and products, and the actual provision of the services, occur expeditiously and without any inconvenience to the parties involved.
PERSONAL DATA
Personal data consist of the information, of whatever nature and support, including sound and image, relating to an identified or identifiable individual person.
A person is considered to be identifiable if he/she can be identified, directly or indirectly, by referring to an identification number or to one or more specific elements of his/her physical, physiological, mental, economic, cultural or social identity.
His/her personal data will allow us to provide the services and products in an adequate and expected manner for the purposes of the Platform, and in this way are an essential tool for the assurance and satisfaction of the Platform USERS. As such, they are a fundamental element for the reciprocal success of all parties.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR USE
STILLS IMAGE BANK is the entity responsible for the collection and use of the personal data, and will decide how the collected data should be categorised and used, and for what purpose.
TYPE OF DATA COLLECTED
STILLS IMAGE BANK collects and uses the personal data necessary for its activity and for the management of the Platform, including name, gender, age, address, email address, IP address, invoice data, bank details and order history.
The data are collected after registration on the Platform, and after due consent has been given, and they are processed by computer in accordance with the PDPA. They are stored in an appropriately secure and protected database, and under no circumstances are they used for any other purpose than that for which consent was given.
REGISTRATION DATA
STILLS IMAGE BANK enters certain requests and transactions in log files. These data are used for problem solving, statistics, quality assurance and to monitor the security of the system, and may be analysed for that purpose.
STILLS IMAGE BANK may use tools such as Google Analytics to compile usage statistics, a service provided by Google, Inc., whose specific privacy policies should be consulted.
“COOKIES”
“Cookies” are little pieces of information which can help to identify your browser and which can store information such as the USER’S configurations and preferences.
When you use the Platform, it can store “cookies” in your computer.
Except for the “cookies” specifically necessary for the performance and operation of the Platform, the storage of other “cookies” will always depend on the acceptance and consent of the USER and this consent may be withdrawn at any time through the specific tools of the browser.
ADVERTISING
Advertising is one of the Platform’s sources of income, and consequently advertisements may be displayed in some of its services, for example, on certain pages.
These advertisements may be targeted based on the information which is available to STILLS IMAGE BANK, for example, language, IP address, etc.
This process is automated; none of the information used is analysed manually or made available to advertisers.
PURPOSE OF USE
The personal data collected is used for the management of commercial relationships and information and marketing activities.
STORAGE TIME
The period of time for which the data are stored varies, depending on the purpose for which the information is used, and rules may exist which require the storage to be for a minimum period of time.
The data will be stored and kept only for the period during which the USER is registered and for up to one (1) year after he/she ceases to be registered, whether by cancellation of registration or lack of use of the Platform, in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of the same. This period is considered sufficient and necessary for the purposes which instigated their collection and use. At the end of this period, the data will be deleted.
RECTIFICATION
The owner of the data can rectify, update and/or modify his/her data at any time through his/her user area on the Platform.
In the event that the data cannot be updated and/or modified in this way, he/she should contact STILLS IMAGE BANK by email at info@stillsimagebank.com, requesting that the data in question be rectified, updated and/or modified. When this has been done, he/she will receive confirmation by email.
RIGHT OF ACCESS
The PDPA guarantees the owner of the data the right of access to his/her personal data, at all times, as well as the right to oppose the use of the data provided. In order to do so, he/she should send a written request by email to info@stillsimagebank.com.
ELIMINATION
The owner of the data may eliminate his/her personal data by cancelling his/her USER account, although the data will nonetheless be kept under the terms mentioned above.
SECURITY MEASURES
STILLS IMAGE BANK guarantees the security of the personal data provided by adopting various security measures, of a technical and organizational nature, to protect the personal data against disclosure, loss, misuse, alteration, use or access by unauthorized parties and any other form of unlawful use.
To this end, and in addition to using the HTTP protocol on top of an additional layer of security which uses the SSL/TLS (HTTPS) protocol, STILLS IMAGE BANK uses a script which encrypts your credit card information and personal data to ensure that this information cannot be intercepted when transmitted across the web.
UNAUTHORISED ACCESS
STILLS IMAGE BANK employs various mechanisms to avoid unauthorized access to accounts or other data.
USER accounts are protected by passwords, and it is the USER’S responsibility to choose a strong password and ensure its confidentiality to avoid risks and situations of unauthorized access to his/her account.
COMMUNCATION TO THIRD PARTIES
STILLS IMAGE BANK may use third parties to provide certain services, for the processing of payments or dispatching of orders, and these third parties may have access to some of the personal data, particularly the data necessary to effect payment transactions and/or deliver orders.
STILLS IMAGE BANK assures that the entities that have access to the data are reputable and offer high guarantees of protection; moreover, they will never receive data beyond what is strictly necessary to provide the service contracted, and STILLS IMAGE BANK will always remain the responsible party for the personal data provided.
STILLS IMAGE BANK may also send data to third parties in the ambit of investigations, inquiries and judicial and/or administrative proceedings or the like, when such has been duly ordered by the courts.
TRANSFER OF DATA
In the case of transferring data to countries not belonging to the European Union or to the European Economic Area, STILLS IMAGE BANK will comply with the PDPA, particularly with regard to the suitability of the destination country with regard to the protection of personal data and the requirements applicable to these transfers. Personal data will not be transferred to jurisdictions which do not offer guarantees of security and protection.
ALTERATIONS TO THE PRIVACY POLICY
STILLS IMAGE BANK reserves the right to readjust or amend the present Privacy Policy at any time, and these amendments will be advertised.
